From the Mediterranean to the rorld: we can reach any destination, but we recommend planning ahead
The black truffle (Tuber melanosporum) season is fast approaching, bringing with it the peak demand period in international fine dining. November and December set the rhythm for the global luxury culinary market: Michelin-starred restaurants, gourmet distributors, and importers across Europe and the United States compete to secure the finest product for the holiday and winter campaigns.
In a market as volatile as that of fresh truffles, the difference between guaranteeing a steady supply and running out of product comes down to strategic planning. From our enclave near the Mediterranean (Spain)-at the crossroads between Alto Palancia and the foothills of Teruel- we analyze this season's outlook and explain why professional buyers should rely on local producers, plan ahead, and secure their orders while the opportunity is open.
Located nearly 1,000 meters above sea level, the Barracas region boasts the ideal geomorphological conditions for growing Tuber melanosporum: limestone soil, mountain cold, and the mild humidity of the Mediterranean Sea, situated just a few kilometers away. This strategic geographic location not only yields a complex, intense aroma and firm texture, but it also places our packaging facility right along the highway-perfectly connected to European transport corridors and major international airports.
Following harvest, the truffles are cleaned, graded by category (Extra, First, Pieces), and packed into temperature-controlled containers with thermal gels designed for urgent air and road transport. Regarding transit times: across the European Union, we guarantee delivery within 24–48 hours via express road or air transport. For the United States and transatlantic markets, all phytosanitary certificates and documentation are arranged in advance to ensure deliveries within 48–72 hours. Not bad for a family business like ours.
In this way, our export capabilities blend the rich truffle tradition of the Mediterranean inland with an international distribution infrastructure ready to meet the highest standards of the gourmet industry.
