Xporum truffles, those that grow near the Mediterranean
In the rural lands of Castellón, where the Mediterranean can be felt in the light, the climate, and the way the land is worked, one of the world’s most prized gastronomic treasures is born: the black truffle Tuber melanosporum. The black truffle from Xporum is not just a product — it is the result of a landscape and a way of life. It comes from a little-traveled area where agricultural work keeps the Mediterranean essence alive. Every morning during truffle season, we go out into the countryside to collect them one by one, without using industrial processes or mass-handling chains. After harvesting, each truffle is gently washed by hand, taking care not to damage it, preserving its natural shape and maintaining its organoleptic qualities intact. The result is a black truffle that reaches the consumer with the same purity with which it was found beneath the soil.
This year we have taken a further step: we have become a major exporter of black truffle Tuber melanosporum to countries beyond Spain.
